Yesterday I spent most of the day in my studio, (aside from weekend pancakes!) and worked on my upcoming show in Saugatuck. Sometimes it can get frustrating working on paintings, and I have to keep reminding myself, "this is fun. This soundn't be such a task for you...you know what you like to paint so paint it". Expectations get in the way, as they often do, and I end up feeling trapped and at the mercy of the viewer.
Such is life, eh?
This morning I remembered this horrific easter egg patterned sleeping bag I used for a blanket as a child. I think that will make it into another large painting for this show. That and a caddisfly larvae. And..I just realized the correlation between the two. This should be interesting.
I should also promote a show that I am in, but unfortunately cannot make seeing as they are in LA and I am in cold Michigan. The first is opening March 4!
You should check it out if you're in the area! They are going to have a musician there as well, doing a rendition of all of the songs.
